The first place to start is by choosing a CD car stereo that will fit right into your existing dash. There are websites on line that you can enter in your vehicle information that will give you a list of selections of CD stereos that are compatible with your car, along with any installation kits, adapters, and special instructions that go along with it.
You next need to decide what you want to listen to and any additional features you would like in your car stereo. Here are some questions you might like to ask yourself before purchasing.
- Do I want a single disc CD car stereo or a multi-CD car stereo?
- Do I want a car radio that has a low FM sensitivity that delivers clearer radio signals?
- Do I want a digital or HD radio?
- Do I want a stereo that plays regular CD’s or one that is compatible with CD- R/RW’s?
- If you have an IPod, do you want an IPod compatible CD car stereo?
- Do you want a CD car stereo that has an auxiliary input for portable connectioncompatibility?
- Do I want a CD car stereo that is Satellite ready?
- Do I want a CD car stereo that also plays DVD?
You also should find a CD car stereo that has removable faceplates and a system that has a control panel that is easy for you to use. Nothing is more frustrating than driving down the road and not being able to find the right button to push because there are too many buttons to choose from.
You can find a nice CD car stereo that has all the features you need at a low, reasonable price. But a rule of thumb is the more expensive the CD car stereo, the more features it has to offer.
With the higher priced models you get a better sound, with easier to use functions, such as touch screen controls.
